Course Description
Program Element Description
This course explores the intersection of social justice and education. We will critically examine the role of educators in promoting equity, inclusivity, and anti-bias practices within educational settings. Through readings, discussions, and practical activities, students will develop a deeper understanding of social justice principles and their application in teaching.

Why was this course your focus?
I revised ED 304: Teaching for Social Justice, which is part of our PreK-4 Early Childhood and Dual Special Education programs. This is a new course I created to address culturally responsive competencies. Through the revision process, I hoped to identify concrete ways in which to integrate the CRSE competencies I chose, specifically hands-on activities where teacher candidates are fully engaged in the learning process.
