PEDC's 7th Annual Educator Diversity Virtual Summit

June 23-25, 2026
8:30 AM - 3:30 PM ET (Daily)

Since its first convening in 2020, the PEDC Summit has become Pennsylvania’s largest annual event centering on educator diversity and Culturally Relevant and Sustaining Education.

The PEDC Summit is more than just an event—it’s a movement for courage, clarity, and connection.

Summit Purpose
In a time when educator diversity and equity work are being challenged and, in some places, erased, we gather not in retreat, but in defiance of fear. This three-day virtual event brings together educators, advocates, students, and leaders who are ready to reimagine what’s possible. Over the course of 3 days, we’ll explore Culturally Relevant and Sustaining Education (CRSE) as a living, breathing force for transformation—one that heals systems, honors humanity, and builds schools where every learner and educator can thrive.

What to Expect:
• Daily Keynotes by national leaders
• 40+ sessions led by educators, scholars, students, and community leaders
• Interactive “Summit Squad” small-group discussions
• Healing-centered practices woven throughout the program
• Practical tools, policy insights, and inspiring stories of transformation
• Opportunities to network with a community grounded in a shared purpose

White Americans, especially teachers, are also likely to adopt a colorblind approach and to display fragility around more difficult conversations about their complicity in white supremacy. Storytelling has been used in other peace and reconciliation processes to promote social healing. Jacob's Puzzle Foundation
June 25th, 1:35-2:40 PM

View Session Description:

Students with varying levels of disabilities often face significant challenges as they transition from high school to post-secondary life, whether academically, socially, or professionally. These barriers may stem from the lack of available post-secondary resources, identifying safe & appropriate spaces of support, or navigating complex college systems without the same scaffolds and tools of their K-12 settings. This workshop is designed to empower secondary educators to address these challenges head-on within their classrooms, be a resource of support, and engage families along the transition process. Through culturally-informed storytelling & discussion, participants will explore, collaborate, and identify common post-graduation obstacles, develop practical strategies, and prepare exceptional students for a pathway of independence and success beyond graduation, whether that’s earning a degree or pursuing other dreams.
