Invested partners in the Southwest region convene and collaborate to achieve PEDC’s common agenda within their local context. With facilitative support offered by PEDC, invested partners across the educational ecosystem in the Southwest Region work to identify and address the needs of and opportunities within their community.
There is a lot of exciting work currently underway in the Southwest Region to diversify the educator workforce and ensure that all educators and education systems in PA are culturally relevant and sustaining. You can learn about some of them below!
Early Childhood and K-12
Our invested partners in early childhood and in K-12 districts and schools are focused on creating inclusive and equitable schooling experiences for their students and educators.
Faculty and staff in higher education recognize their roles in preparing the next generation of educators for Southwest PA’s classrooms.
Local community and nonprofit leaders are committed to ensuring that all children in Southwest PA have access to racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse educators as well as culturally relevant and sustaining educators.
